I tried to nurse so I basically stuck to a diet that I thought was suitable for my baby. Only eat things that you would want your healthy infant to eat. Even though nursing didn't last very long, this diet helped me slim down pretty fast and I ended up getting used to it and it stayed with me. Also I was able to get a little exercise in about 2 times a week and that was pushing it. Family time was pretty important to me as well so I didn't get to exercise as much as I wanted. Good luck!

It,depends, if your breast feeding then you shouldn't really be thinking about dieting yet and instead watch what you eat and maintain a diet high in calcium.Otherwise take it slow and don't go after those fad diets because any weight you loose I guarantee you'll put back on just as quickly. remember you'll only loose weight if you burn more energy then you take in. Eat three meals a day that are rich in nutrients and low in fat. And if you want an exercise regimen that means you can still spend time with the kids then why not get them involved too? obviously it depends on their ages but you could all go swimming together as a family or something. alternatively take half an hour each day to take a brisk walk around your neighborhood

I ran through my first pregnancy and I loved it. I had to slow down as I progressed and reduce the length of my run but if I hadn't kept it up I think I would not have had such a happy pregnancy. I also think it helped with my labour. I found this top great for support - http://www.fittamamma.com/product.php/123/6/sport_support_top
It has under bump support and it pulls the weight onto your back. I also wore it to get back in shape after the birth. The only problem i had on my runs were disapproving looks when I got big!
